Gulf Shores, Ala. – On Friday, December 21, 2018, the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber presented Anatolie Simion, Original Oyster House dining room manager, the Island Spirit Award. The Island Spirit Award is presented monthly by the Chamber and has been a longstanding tradition for 30+ years. The award recognizes individuals who make special contributions to the quality on Pleasure Island [Gulf Shores].
Sharon Wiese, vice president of publications and advertising for Coastal Alabama Chamber, read the nomination while presenting Simion the award. "Anatolie is a Pleasure Island Icon! Anatolie is being nominated for the Island Spirit Award because he works really hard to make sure every customer has a great dining experience. The restaurant lines are usually long, but he welcomes everyone with a smile! He has been an employee for over 11 years, working his way up from dishwasher to dining room manager. He is dedicated, helpful, pleasant, and a very hard worker. This makes him most deserving of the Island Spirit Award,” stated Wiese.
