To recognize local hospitality ambassadors, the Original Oyster House hosted its Referral Appreciation Banquet at their Mobile Causeway location. Once an annual event, the restaurant took a hiatus from the event for several years. The event was held in the waterfront Banquet Room which is available for graduations, wedding parties, celebrations, business conferences and seminars for 30 to 100 guests. With expansive views of the Mobile skyline and the Delta, the Banquet Room exemplifies the Causeway’s incredible landscape and sunsets as well as its local Gulf seafood.

Over forty representatives from the Battle House Renaissance hotel, Renaissance Riverview hotel, Malaga Inn, Hampton Inn(s), Hilton Garden Inn(s), Quality Inn(s), Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, Grand Bay Welcome Center, Baldwin Welcome Center, Mobile Carnival Museum, Wild Native Delta Safaris and Visit Mobile, enjoyed micro brews from Fairhope Brewing Company and an assortment of delectable seafood hors d’oeuvres including the Original Oyster House’s mouthwatering fire-grilled oysters. Katy Sapio Meador, director of partnership marketing of Visit Mobile, joined Jim Harrison, general manager, Joe Roszkowski and David Dekle, co-founders of the Original Oyster House for a short presentation recognizing the front line of hospitality and their contribution to the area’s tourism industry. David Dekle announced the “First Choice Rewards” program where a hospitality representative can win prizes including a Wind Creek Spa and overnight stay worth $330 for a referral to the restaurant.

“I’m so glad that the Original Oyster House brought back this wonderful event; we loved going every year. What I like most is how long their staff has been working there which explains why the food is always consistently delicious and why we highly recommend them to tourists from all over,” claimed Connie Pearce, manager of the Grand Bay Welcome Center.

Door prizes included Wild Native Safari tickets valued at $40, a goodie bag from the Original Oyster House valued at $100, an overnight stay at Wind Creek valued at $100 and a grand door prize for a 2-night stay at the Grand Hotel Marriott in Point Clear, Ala. valued at $630. Ethel Mingo of the Grand Bay Welcome Center was the lucky winner of the grand door prize, a wonderful surprise for her after losing her home to a fire just a month ago.

The Original Oyster House (OOH) has two locations, Gulf Shores: 701 Hwy 59 on the Original Oyster House Boardwalk and Mobile: 3733 Battleship Parkway, on the Mobile Causeway. Both locations offer spectacular waterfront views and have been celebrated as the area’s finest family restaurants for the past 34 years. For more information visit www.originaloysterhouse.com.
