Continuing its tradition, the Original Oyster House restaurants were closed the Sunday after Labor Day for its 31th Annual Employee Picnic. Employees of the Original Oyster House and their immediate families were thanked for a job well done with a family fun day at Waterville, USA. After checking in, employees donated goods for Prodisee Pantry, a faith-based non-profit community ministry providing emergency food and disaster relief in Baldwin County.

Activities included a great lunch as well as lots of raffle and door prizes provided by in-kind donations. Donors included AMC Movie Theatre, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Buffalo Rock, Christmas Nights of Lights, Colonial Life, Fairhope Brewery, Geez Louise Boutique, Gulf Coast Ducks, Gulf Coast Newspapers, GulfQuest, Harris Properties, Matt’s Ice Cream, Mobile BayBears, OWA, Prodisee Pantry, Retro Road Trip, Riverview Plaza Hotel, Speak Easy Spirits, The Factory, The Trading Company, Wild Native Tours and Zebra Marketing.

Four employees, chosen from a pool of employees who achieved perfect attendance, won $500 each. The winners for Gulf Shores were Karen Payton and Lisa Bell. The Mobile Causeway winners included Tracy Tureau and Jonathan Donald. Since starting the perfect attendance rewards program, three employees have maintained perfect attendance (40 Months) – Gaynell Ducote of the Causeway; Stephen Shillito & Eliza McGaster of Gulf Shores.
