Continuing its tradition, the Original Oyster House restaurants will close the Sunday after Labor Day on September 10, 2017, for its 30th Annual Employee Picnic. Employees of the Original Oyster House and their immediate families are thanked for a job well done with a family fun day at Waterville USA.
Last year’s picnic included a human foosball tourney, a great lunch and raffle and door prizes donated by Buffalo Rock, Carmike Cinemas, Wild Native, Alabama Paddlesports, Waterville, the Factory, Geez Louise Boutique, Colonial Life and Zebra Marketing. Five employees chosen from a pool of employees who strove for perfect attendance, won $500 each. Also employees brought can goods for Prodisee Pantry, a faith-based non-profit community ministry providing emergency food and disaster relief in Baldwin County.
The Original Oyster House celebrated its 34th year in business and has many staff members who have grown with the company throughout these years. The restaurants and retail stores regularly recognize staff members and encourage their involvement and creative ideas to improve service. The inaugural Gulf Shores versus Mobile Causeway Human Foosball Tournament included 14 teams, coached by corresponding managers, who competed for the finals in single elimination games.
