Continuing its tradition, the Original Oyster House restaurants & Geez Louise Boutique closed the Sunday after Labor Day on September 13, 2015, for its 28th Annual Employee Appreciation Picnic. Employees of the Original Oyster House and Geez Louise Boutique and their immediate families were treated to perfect weather and a family day at Waterville USA in Gulf Shores, Ala.

This year’s picnic provided some fun surprises including the opportunity to dunk management, a great lunch and lots of door prizes donated by Buffalo Rock, Academy Sports, Craft Farms, Backcountry Trails, Compass Media, Delta Safaris, Alabama Paddlesports, Zebra Marketing, BCBS of AL, Waterville USA and Geez Louise Boutique. But the big moment wasn’t a surprise for the employees as Sheila Hare, Superb Foods/Original Oyster House human resource manager, implemented a reward incentive for employees who strove for perfect attendance. After one month of perfect attendance, staff would receive lunch. As the months increased, the incentives grew bigger until they culminated in a $500 drawing for those with perfect attendance for four months consecutively or greater. Management drew five individual winners of $500 each from the perfect attendance pool that included Karen Taubel, Billy Bivens, Anthony Salvo, Jayne Brooks and Chasity Denney.

Our employee appreciation day was a great opportunity to thank everyone for their hard work, to celebrate team spirit and reward staff members who strive to exceed our guests’ expectations every day and go above and beyond,” stated Hare.
