Original Oyster House honors two Baldwin County students with the
7th Annual Chelsea Garvin Spirit Award Scholarship Program

Fairhope, AL. — The Original Oyster House honored two Baldwin County art students with our 7th Annual Chelsea Garvin Spirit Award Scholarship Program. This is the seventh year we have given scholarships to area senior art students in the name of Chelsea, a former Fairhope High School art student, Fish River Fire Department Rescue Diver and Original Oyster House employee. Tragically, Chelsea was killed in a boating accident in the fall of 2005.

On May 8, 2011, at the Fairhope High School Senior Awards Ceremony Mary Lou Roszkowski, VP of Operations presented Sally Sundbeck with one of two $1000 scholarships. Sally is in the National Art Honor Society, where she is involved in art projects throughout the community. Sally plans to pursue her artistic endeavors at Auburn University.

On May 17, 2011, at the Daphne High School Senior Awards Ceremony Shannon Roh, presented Sarah Nix with the second $1000 Chelsea Garvin scholarship. She has been involved in many volunteer and service projects throughout her high school career. Sarah, plans to major in art and minor in English at the University of Montevallo this fall.

Congratulations to both of these talented and deserving art students, they are shining examples of what is right with Baldwin County School art programs.
