The Original Oyster House restaurant first opened its doors in Gulf Shores in 1983. Our restaurant on the Causeway, overlooking Mobile Bay, opened in 1985. Since then we have proudly served the Gulf Coast the best seafood in a casual atmosphere with genuine southern hospitality.

If you are looking to make money this summer, the Original Oyster House is hiring cashiers at our Mobile Causeway restaurant to work a variety of hours, including days, nights, weekends and some holidays. No previous restaurant experience needed. Starting rate of pay for this position is $10.00 an hour.

Essential Functions

  • Handles cash/credit card transactions and Keeps all transactions reports
  • Issues receipts, change, or tickets as well as redeems coupons and discounts
  • Welcomes guests
  • Maintains a clean front area
  • Takes to-go orders and Answers the phone to provide relevant information to guests

Physical Requirements:

  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle cash/credit card transactions and keeps all transactions reports
  • Issue receipts, change, or tickets as well as redeem coupons and discounts
  • Welcome guests
  • Maintain a clean front area
  • Take to-go orders and answer the phone to provide relevant information to guests
  • Promptly and professionally handles guest issues and communicates problems and concerns to management
  • Perform other duties as assigned
