The Original Oyster House Restaurants will be closed Sunday, September 8, 2019 to celebrate the Best Employees in the World at the 32nd Annual Employee Picnic.

Continuing its tradition, the Original Oyster House restaurants will close the Sunday after Labor Day on September 8, 2019, for its 32nd Annual Employee Picnic. In a show of appreciation, Employees are thanked for a job well done with a private Family Fun Day at Waterville USA.

This year’s event includes a spectacular lunch and recognition for their hard work. Four employees randomly chosen from a pool of employees who strove for perfect attendance, will win $1250 each. The Original Oyster House has many longtime staff members who have grown with the company over the past 36 years. Known as an employer of choice, the Original Oyster House values family, integrity and great service.

The Original Oyster House has become the “must-go-to” place for great fresh Gulf seafood, service and Southern hospitality and for its panoramic waterfront sunsets. A top-spot for hand-shucked and fire-grilled oysters, the Original Oyster House has also become legendary for its homemade gumbo, cheesy grits with blackened shrimp, as well as handcrafted desserts including its famous Peanut Butter Pie. In 2016, the Original Oyster House became the first restaurant in the state of Alabama to recycle oyster shells through the Alabama Coastal Foundation. In July of 2019, an estimated 9 million oyster shells to date have been recovered from participating Gulf Coast restaurants.

The Original Oyster House (OOH) has two locations, Mobile: 3733 Battleship Parkway, on the Causeway and Gulf Shores: 701 Gulf Shores Parkway on the Original Oyster House Boardwalk. Both locations offer spectacular waterfront views and have been celebrated as the area’s finest family restaurants for the past 36 years.
